Dr. Charles Schwantes
Dr.
Charles Schwantes has been
in practice in the Prior
Lake area since 1981. His
undergraduate studies were
done at the University of
Wisconsin - Madison, where
he majored in microbiology.
He received a Bachelors
Degree in Veterinary Science
in 1979. Dr. Schwantes
attended veterinary school
at the University of
Minnesota and received his
Doctor of Veterinary
Medicine Degree in 1981.
Dr. Schwantes is an active
member in the local
veterinary community and has
served on the Board of
Directors of the Veterinary
Hospital Association. His
professional interests
include general medicine and
surgery, as well as
orthopedic surgery in dogs
and cats.
Dr. Schwantes is married to
Jill, a Marshall, Minnesota
native who grew up in Des
Moines, Iowa. Dr. Schwantes
and his wife enjoy Big Ten
sports, riding their mules,
gardening and caring for
their four-legged family
members. They have two
German Shorthaired Pointers,
Klink and Huppert; two cats,
Ester and Gracie; two mules,
Mattie and Snooks; and
several ducks. Dr. Schwantes
enjoys many outdoor
activities, including fly
fishing, and is involved in
several conservation groups,
such as Ducks Unlimited,
Trout Unlimited, and
Pheasants Forever. |

Dr. Nichole Tubman
Dr.
Nichole Tubman graduated in
1995 from the University of
St. Thomas with a Bachelors
of Art degree with a major
concentration in Biology,
and a minor concentration in
both chemistry and
psychology. She attended the
University of Minnesota,
College of Veterinary
Medicine and was awarded her
Doctor of Veterinary
Medicine degree in 1999.
Since graduation, Dr. Tubman
has been working at the
Prior Lake Pet Hospital.
Dr. Tubman enjoys all
aspects of veterinary
medicine but holds a special
interest in feline medicine.
Dr. Tubman is an active
member in the Minnesota
Veterinary Medical
Association, American
Veterinary Medical
Association, Minnesota
Veterinary Practice
Managers' Network and the
American Academy of Feline
Practitioners.
Outside of her profession,
Dr. Tubman shares her home
with her husband, Tim; her
stepson, Joey and their four
cats, Kenzie, Murphy, Purcee,
and Boxer. She enjoys
finding new places to travel
and the adventures that come
along with this. At home she
enjoys keeping up with our
local Wild hockey team. Dr.
Tubman also enjoys many
outdoor activities such as
hiking in the North Woods,
running, biking,
rollerblading, and
gardening. |

Dr. Valerie
Aliano
Dr.
Valerie Aliano graduated
from Nebraska Wesleyan
University in 1980 with a
Bachelors of Science degree
in Biology. She attended the
College of Veterinary
Medicine in Columbia,
Missouri, and received her
Doctor of Veterinary
Medicine degree in 1983. She
practiced veterinary
medicine and was a practice
owner in Nebraska before
moving to Minnesota in 2005.
Dr. Aliano joined the staff
at Prior Lake Pet Hospital
in 2006.
Dr. Aliano has a special
interest in geriatric
medicine, soft tissue
surgery and emergency
medicine. She also works
part time at an area
emergency hospital.
Since moving to Minnesota,
Dr. Aliano feels as if she
has come home. She loves all
things Minnesotan, from the
lakes to the weekend trips
to the cabin, and even the
frigid winters. She shares
her home with three dogs,
Velvet, Kaydence, and Kali;
and three cats, Kiwi, Kobi,
and Kappi. In her spare
time, Dr. Aliano enjoys
playing with the dogs,
reading and hiking in the
beautiful North Woods. She
is a member of the Minnesota
Veterinary Medical
Association, American
Veterinary Medical
Association, American
Association of Feline
Practitioners and the
Veterinary Emergency and
Critical Care Society. Dr.
Aliano is also certified in
PennHIP evaluation. |

Dr.
Joshua Albright
Dr.
Joshua Albright started at
the Prior Lake Pet Hospital
cleaning kennels while
attending Prior Lake High
School and has continued to
work here ever since. He
completed his undergraduate
education at the University
of Minnesota, attended the
College of Veterinary
Medicine and received his
Doctor of Veterinary
Medicine degree in 2008.
Dr. Albright enjoys all
aspects of canine and feline
medicine, surgery and
dentistry. He is fond of
developing long-term
relationships with his
patients and their owners.
Dr. Albright is an active
member of the Minnesota
Veterinary Medical
Association and the American
Veterinary Medical
Association.
Dr. Albright and his wife,
Abby who is also a
veterinarian, share their
home with their son Simon;
two cats, Ted and Rosie and
three dogs, Frankie, a
French Bulldog; Gertrude, a
Wirehaired Pointing Griffon;
and Olivia, a Goldendoodle.
In his free time, Dr.
Albright spends as much time
as possible outdoors
enjoying hunting, fishing,
and exploring backroads on
his Harley. |
