Dr. Charles Schwantes has been in practice in the Prior Lake area for over 20 years. His undergraduate training was completed at the University of Minnesota where he recieved a Bachelors Degree in Veterinary Science. He attended veterinary school at the Universtiy of Minnesota and received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree in 1981.
Dr. Schwantes and his wife Jill currently have 2 mules (Mattie & Snooks), two pointers (Klink & Schultz), and 2 cats (Ester & Gracie). Dr. Schwantes enjoys many outdoor activities including fly fishing. He is involved in various conservation groups such as Trout Unlimited and has been a long time board member of the Burnsville Ducks Unlimited Chapter. |

Dr. Dennis Horter enjoys visiting with owners about their pet's health and what we can do together to increase our pet's quality of life. From his computer consulting background, Dr. Horter uses his interest in technology to make veterinary information and veterinary care easier for both pets and their owners. Dr. Horter grew up on a ranch in Bristol , a small town in South Dakota . Raising cattle, pigs and horses, he knew he wanted to become a veterinarian since he was eight years old.
His wife Deanne, originally from Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, works as a registered nurse at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina in the post anesthesia care unit. They have one cat, Smokey, who Dr. Horter says runs the house and "allows us to live with him." Dr. Horter performed his undergraduate studies at South Dakota State University in Brookings , SD. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University and earned his Master of Science degree in Veterinary Microbiology and Preventative Medicine. He was involved in research involving diagnostics test development with a virus that affects swine.
Dr. Horter uses his specialization in infectious disease and immunology to better diagnose and treat infectious diseases that cause illness in our pets. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, snow skiing and training/competing in triatholons. |

Dr. Nichole Tubman graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree with major in Biology and minors in both Chemistry and Psychology. She completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1999 and has been on our staff since that time. Dr. Tubman has 4 cats (Kenzie, Taxi, Purcee, & Murphy). Her hobbies include boating, waterskiing, rollerblading, biking, crafting & gardening. As evidenced by her house full of cats, you can see that Dr. Tubman has a special interest in Feline medicine. Dr. Tubman is also a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners. |

Dr. Brad Prestemon graduated from Luther College and received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from Iowa State University in 1995. He enjoys working with pet owners in the areas of preventive medicine , dentistry, ear conditions, and diseases of the skin. Dr. Prestemon believes that preventative medicine allows us to truly make a positive inp ac t on our pet s quality of life . Dr. Prestsemon and his wife Kari have four children. He enjoys family time and outdoor activities, including gardening, fishing and biking. |
